#busymamabookswap : November

I have been participating in the @busymamabookclub book swap since they were started around 18 months ago.

It works by responding to a post that Emily (@busymamabookswap) puts up monthly. She advertises the theme for the swap and if you want in, you just respond saying you are and letting her know what country you’re in. She then does the tough job of pairing everyone up with someone else in the same country as them.

October 2019 – Autumn Adventures

Over the months we’ve had some awesome themes such as going green, local love, cheap as chips and flower power. All these themes are open to your own interpretation.

Once you’re partnered up, you discuss budget and what your interpretation of the theme is. You try and learn a bit about your partner and swap book wish lists.

Summer Sizzle – July 2019

We all then get told a date to post by, and the date that is reveal day. Every time I’ve been so overwhelmed by the beautiful, thoughtful parcel I’ve received. This month was no exception.

This month I’ve been partnered with Cerys who put together the most lovely package with two books from my wish list, and one I didn’t even know I wanted (but now I’ve got it I can’t wait to read it!) There’s chocolate (which is unreal and always a welcome gift) and she kindly popped in a massage bar from Lush which fit in well with the fact I’m trying to reduce my plastic consumption.

From next year, we’ll be swapping every three months instead which I’m really looking forward to. I’ve taken part in every swap, but I have that many books to read I could do with a break. But I never do it because I get massive FOMO! This way, it’ll ease the book burden and I don’t have to miss out! 😂
